Datey Date Daterson

Since the beginning of the school year Corey and I have had the pleasure of going out on a weekly date.
We leave all but one child behind (He's a cute third wheel, and he doesn't distract too much.)
and go off on exciting and romantic adventures...

Okay the truth is that we do the same boring things that we love and have always done...
We stroll through Barnes and Noble.
We stay home and play games.
But you know what?
It's still completely and totally wonderful!
We have never gone on regular dates, and we wouldn't be doing it now except that a friend with children similar ages proposed a weekly swap. We plan weekly so in actuality it happens about every 3 times in 4.

It. Is. Delightful.
Especially since Corey now has a full time job, a part time job, and is doing more than full time school. 2 hours of alone time feels heaven sent!
We will still know each other when this phase of life is over!

I like Corey.
He's fun.
I'd rather be doing nothing with him than something fancy with anyone else.

Please leave comments of cheap dates. Our date budget is about $2.50/week!

If you do your date while the Friendshop at Champaign Library is open, they have some real gems there. Much cheaper than new books! :D

Borrow a movie (from library or a friend).

Dollar store and buy something for the other. :)

I always like making something together (that is not a baby). Whatever that may be -- once we wrote a blog post together, one Feb we chose favorite love poems, typed and printed them and put them up around the house.

Have fun you lucky ducks!

Urbana Library + Meadowbrook Park!
I LOOOOVE the Urbana library, so cozy, I love the magazine section and the comfy chairs. And of course I'm fond of Meadowbrook, Danny and I used to go on Sunday walks there.

There's also the Japanese Gardens on the U of I campus, maybe not so great this time of year but in the spring/summer!

It's a bit of a drive, but there are cool gardens and nice forest walks at Allerton. That's especially beautiful in April.

You could check out the U of I calendar for visiting lectures and stuff, they have cool people come through!
