Talmage Trip Day Three

The big item on our agenda for day 2 was the finalization of Talmage's adoption.
Here are the boys all gussied up and ready to go:
Ada was pretty darn adorable to watch going all over the place at the courthouse. She held on to Audrey's hand (most of the time) and off she went! She kept saying "Run! Run!" and then back and forth, back and forth we watched her traipse that hallway again and again.
The only time she stopped was to watch "You Gabba Gabba," for a second on Hillary's lap, which really made me laugh because going from so busy, to so still in a split second like that was pretty funny!
I loved being able to attend finalization. What a neat thing! I was pretty surprised at how very officially official it all was... I mean... I knew it would be I guess, but they used such specific and proper language, the judges demeanor was very serious... it was pretty neat.
I also loved hearing Cal and Whit talk to the judge about Talmage. So sweet.
And it was pretty entertaining to see Ada do flips on Audrey for about 20 minutes straight. :)
After the official proceedings, the judge was very personable and sweet too.
What a neat experience!
And what better way to celebrate than by a trip to Paradise? (Bakery and Cafe). Thanks for the yummy breakfast bro!
Okay... now the pictures might not all make sense here. The top left is of Calvin carrying Ada girl- who is not in trouble or anything, she is just remarkably wiggly... then the bottom left is of her running laps around the joint again. :) She makes me excited to have a toddler again.
After breakfast we made a couple of special trips. I didn't get to see my mom's grave the last few trips, nor did I get to say goodbye when we originally left to UT because of Aly's unfortunate hospital stay. Sooooo... after breakfast we went to the one and only Macey's in Orem for a "short trip," to the Deli Counter where I have at least a hundred happy, silly, wonderful memories of shopping with my mom.
It's a good thing that you are guaranteed to run in to people at Macey's or I may have turned in to a sobby mess. I love going there and remembering her. As it happened- I did see people! We saw 3 actually. One of which was my good friend Stephanie that I grew up dancing with/went to high school with.
After a few visits with friends and a quick pic at the deli counter (ps- I don't know how to pose in pictures do I?!? I need some advice on how to be tall so that pictures like this don't happen...)
Visiting the cemetery was very tender... too tender to really talk about on a public blog, but I will just say this: I love my brother a lot. I am so grateful that we have each other. And Whitney too of course! We all miss my mom like crazy, and I am grateful that we had some time to go and visit, and that I could have a moment to myself to pray.

Thursday afternoon was the most laid back of any that we had. I was so grateful Cal didn't have to go to work and that he could relax with us!

We got some good pictures that afternoon.
This collage is called "sibling love."
Do you love the diaper shots? Too funny! and guess what? that is NOT a picture of Truman Ada is holding. It's JACK!!! Look close! Can you believe it?

More namesake pics. Yay! He sure loved his uncle lots and lots!
What an awesome guy to be named after. Don't you think? I personally can't think of anyone better.
Last but not least... Ada Girl in a rare moment of being posey for the camera:

Thursday night I was supposed to see my Katie but it didn't work out :( So instead I spent the evening home with Whit's mom while C&W went to a work party.
We had ourselves a grand ol' time! We ate pizza, watched the babies, talked and watched some shows.
I probably drove her crazy with all my questions, but I felt like it was a rare opportunity to have someone I admire all to myself... so I asked her about falling in love with her husband... why she chose to be a teacher... what Whit was like as a little girl... all kinds of things! I enjoyed every minute with her, and felt really lucky to have the time to get to know her better. Her stories were beautiful, and I will remember what she told me.
I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the Lewis Clan. They are truly wonderful people.

Then more talking and hanging out with Cal and Whit when they came home!
All in all a wonderful day!
