Take a look at my handsome Baccalaureate:
May 8th, 2009 at the University of Utah Commencement Ceremony Corey graduated from the College of Humanities with a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Minor in History. Such an amazing moment. More on that to come...
Due to this momentous occasion Corey's parents made the trek from Illinois to Utah to support him and stayed for a week-long visit. For the next few days the blog will be dedicated to documenting the trip.
Thursday May 7th, Day One:
Corey finished his last final Thursday morning and then his folks arrived on in the evening bringing with them their love and a whole lot of goodies. Among the gifts were some new books and summer clothes for the boys and a way cool popcorn maker for the whole fam.
After the inital greetings and present giving we headed off to our first dinner out. On Guy Fieri's recommendation we went to a BBQ joint called Pat's. Jack had his first soda, and it was good to be altogether. How was the food you ask? Well... it wasn't the best bbq ever... in Cindy's words "Guy Fieri will be getting an e-mail from me!" but not to worry:
Cold Stone Saved the Day! (Not that it needed saving... it was really nice of them to take us there and we felt bad it didn't live up to expectations).
Now I'm just gonna say this now and get it off my chest... I was a horrible, horrible photographer throughout their visit. I didn't take nearly enough pictures and the ones I did get were certainly not my best work. So... no Cold Stone Pics... sorry. It was heavenly as ever though let me assure you.
After Cold Stone we went back and hung out at the apartment until it was time to part for the evening.
Best Moments of Thursday:
The look on the faces of Jack and Grampa as they reunited
Gram reading Aly his new dog book together and watching her and Corey laugh at the picture of a dog peeing (You move a tab... his leg goes up... and out it comes! Ewww!)
Cold Stone actually had Corey's favorite! Peanut Butter! They never have that one. Must have been a graduation blessing. I'm glad my fave is Cake Batter with Brownie: always in stock.
Hanging out on the couch with Corey watching TV when all other parties were asleep knowing that he had absolutely no homework to do and that he won't have homework for another 3 blessed months!
