Part 2

After working on the snowman and messing around in our little yard we remembered that we live in the middle of a golf course and we set off for a trip through a gorgeous winter wonderland!
Surrounded by the gorgeous freshly fallen snow... having fun with my very favorite people on earth... my heart was so very full.
We have a happy family. We are the best of friends. And that is a blessing I will never take for granted.
Once we were sufficiently frozen we headed back in for hot chocolate.
Good for both the body and soul don't you think?!?
Excepting one small break where I snuck out for a baptism we spent the whole day at home hanging out, cleaning, and just being together. It feels like it's been a really long time since we had such a laid back day. We loved it. For dinner we had a big breakfast- homemade whole wheat blueberry pancakes, eggs, veggie sausages... the works. It just seemed like the right way to end a day like that.
Then with full tummies we bundled the boys up for the second time that day to depart with their grandparents for an evening Christmas Parade! While they were gone Corey and I had a date on the couch with a good movie. Perfect.
The boys came home cold and tired and completely happy. They had a wonderful time with Gram and Grampa as always. Apparently Alaster was really in the Christmas spirit and shouted a joyous "Merry Christmas!" to everyone they passed. They stayed for the parade and then got fries and hot chocolate at McDonalds. Perfect.
Welcome Winter! We are happy to see you!
