Pumpkin Patch

Living in the Midwest does have some serious advantages.
Among them... killer pumpkin patches.

Remember how much fun we had at The Great Pumpkin Patch?
It's the crazy fancy, oober-huge patch in Amish Land that Martha Stewart went to once on her show. They have varieties of gourds from all over the world... It's massive... expensive... and frankly just quite a production! We had so much fun, and think if you live here, it's a "must experience at least once," kind of place.

The pumpkin patch we went to this year is on the total opposite end of the spectrum. It was small, family operated, and the prices were insanely good!

They basically just sold the necessities- pumpkins, hay bales, corn stalks, and a few winter squash varieties... no gift shop... no activities... and yet? We still had a fantastic time, just in a totally different way! The boys were so cute and excited!

To give you an idea of the prices... we got 31 gourds in total. We are loaded up on fresh, healthy, locally grown and harvested spaghetti, acorn, and butternut squash. We have a plethora of pumpkins to decorate with, carve, and generally delight us... and all this for the low, low, price of $13.50.
That's right people I said $13.50!!!
2 wagon loads full of gourds!!! What in the WHAT?!?
I think it would be fun to try a new pumpkin patch every year that we live here, but I am thinking this patch will be a staple. Plus it's like only 15 minutes away. Score!
